Description

Antifreeze LCX 100 was specifically developed for use with batteries and battery systems, for example in electric vehicles. It is not suitable as an engine coolant for conventional combustion engines. Conventional coolants have high electrical conductivity, which can cause problems in battery system applications. Thanks to selected inhibitors, Antifreeze LCX 100 maintains extremely low electrical conductivity over a long period. This ensures safe operation in electric drive systems. Furthermore, Antifreeze LCX 100 offers reliable freeze protection down to ‑36 °C and efficient heat dissipation. Materials used in modern electrified cooling systems are optimally protected against corrosion. Antifreeze LCX 100 is ready to use and does not need to be diluted with water. It contains 50% vol. ethylene glycol. Further dilution with distilled or demineralized water is possible, provided the electrical conductivity of the water does not exceed 2 µS/cm at 25 °C. Adding water reduces corrosion protection. The proportion of added water should not exceed 10%. While adding ethylene glycol slightly increases frost protection, it can also impair corrosion protection.

Use

  • Antifreeze LCX 100 is suitable for temperatures between ‑30°C and 90°C. The fluid's stability within this temperature range is confirmed, with no deposits, cloudiness, or other adverse changes. Please note that the stability of the electrical conductivity depends on the low‑conductivity materials used in the cooling system and must be tested individually.

Since the development of low conductivity systems is still innovative, the compatibility of the coolant with different materials must be tested for each application.

Note that compatible polymeric materials and elastomers often contain significant amounts of fillers and additives, which can impair the electrical conductivity of the coolant. Examples include EPDM, PVC, PA 66, silicone rubber, Viton®, etc.

Manufacturer's instructions must always be followed.

Antifreeze LCX 100 can be stored in unopened, airtight containers at a temperature of max. 30 °C for 1 (one) year. After this time, its usability should be checked by measuring the electrical conductivity and pH value.

Miscibility

Even slight mixing with conventional coolants/antifreeze or other ion‑containing liquids makes this coolant Unusable with low conductivity. To maintain the quality of the coolant, meticulous cleanliness is essential. Tightly close the container with Antifreeze LCX 100 after use.
